What should be included in the grant plan?
Strategies
- All grant applications must include a description of the specific details regarding the activities the district plans to implement. The recruitment and retention grant guidance document presents broad categories and suggestions for activities related to research and best practice. Districts may create a plan to meet their needs, however, if strategies outside of the grant guidance are selected, research to support the strategies must be included.
- All grant applications must include a plan for how the district/charter school and/or higher education institute will evaluate and share grant plan implementation effectiveness (you may work with your MTDS TDS for the Missouri DESE reporting requirement).
- A detailed budget for grant expenditures must be provided and may not exceed grant allocations. The budget will be included in the on-line application as well as entered into the DESE ePEGS system. Please note: Coding of ESSER funds should align with those provided in the Missouri Financial Accounting Manual. For any questions pertaining to coding of expenditures, please contact School Finance at 573-751-0357 or [email protected].
Will planned grant budgets be required to be divided across the entire grant term?
No. Grants will be funded as reimbursements. Some districts may plan to utilize their entire allotments in the first year. Other applicants may budget their funds to span across the entire grant term.
Note: Grant recipients are required to continue to participate in on-going grant monitoring and evaluation through the grant term regardless of when grant monies are utilized.
