Regional & State Networks | Cohort-Style Learning | Access to Experts
MTDS promotes research-based effective professional learning for teachers that is:
The MTDS framework includes a curated set of 30 competencies (knowledge and skills) of teaching organized within six domains. The domains provide the context for the competencies, which represent the work of teaching. Each of the 30 competencies have been deconstructed and thenprogressed across six levels of the career to provide level-specific learning statements.
The MTDS is designed to meet learning needs of teachers across the career span, allowing teachers to continuously increase teaching capacity through growth and development opportunities. Each of the 30 MTDS Competencies includes level-specific learning statements, which are organized to provide a progression of learning leading to mastery of each competency. These statements have also been curated within levels to provide support for those developing programming for teacher learning. Visit each of the levels below to explore the MTDS learning as it progresses across the career.
Thank you to all of the designers and teams who worked and continue to work to bring MTDS to Missouri teachers!
MTDS was developed through collaborative partnerships between the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, Missouri's RPDCs, teacher associations, teachers, and many others who contributed to the development of MTDS.
