​​MO-DESE Recruitment & Retention Grants or Teacher Education Grants

What grants are available? 

There are three different grants being offered by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  Missouri K-12 school districts and charter schools qualify for the Grow Your Own Grant and the Teacher Retention Grant.  Missouri higher education institutions who offer programs for teaching are eligible to apply for the Recruitment Grant.

Funding for the Retention Grant is based on recruitment challenges with district priority being determined by percentage of free and reduced students and students of color.  Find your district grant allocation.  
Level 1  -  $1,200 per teacher
70% - 100% FRPL
50% - 100% Students of Color


Level 2  -  $800 per teacher
70% - 100% FRPL
  0% - 49%  Students of Color

Level 3  -  $500 per teacher
0% - 69% FRPL
